Mentorship is something that each person needs to fundamentally value. This is because in one way or another, we are all products of other people. Both our successes and failures in life have been greatly influence by people. That’s why it is important for every man to be intentional about the people who speak into his life and give him guidance on life matters.
One can have multiple mentors or even just one, my recommendation though, is every man should have other more experienced men to talk to him in four key areas, 1. Spirituality, 2. Relationships, 3. Emotions and 4. Finances. Below is a bit of information about these mentors.
- Spiritual Mentor
Every man needs a man in his life that has profound understanding of God. This type of mentor is key in helping discover your identity in light of what God created you to be and help you build the confidence and strength you need for your spiritual walk.
2. A Relational Mentor
Every man needs a man other than their peers talking to them about dating and sex. You need a man with a rock-solid marriage and strong, confident kids to share the reality and wisdom of relationship, marriage and fatherhood.
3. An Emotional Health Mentor
Every man needs a man in his life who has been through tough times, someone who has faced loss and grief, and came out with compassionate strength. This mentor will help equip a man with the courage and wisdom need to face life’s difficulties.
4. A Financial Mentor
Every man needs a man who has clearly made wise and ethical financial decisions over a period of time. A man who has the wisdom of making and investing money and building wealth. This mentor will help be financially stable.
Please note: In some cases one mentor can cover two of more of these areas, but it’s best to have different men who have mastered the above mentioned different areas guide you through them.
